The United States solar industry has installed over 100 gigawatts of capacity in the past decade. As the first wave of those systems reaches end-of-life, and as newer panels are installed during upgrades, a substantial amount of functional equipment ends up sitting in warehouses, storage yards, and job sites.
Most of this equipment still holds significant value, including panels, inverters, optimizers, and balance-of-system components with years of usable life left. Instead of going straight to waste, this equipment deserves a second market.
Repurpose Exchange gives this equipment that second market through an admin-approved platform built for resale and reuse. Sellers can recover value from second-hand and surplus equipment, while buyers gain access to reusable solar materials for their projects.
