1. Introduction
Repurpose Exchange, LLC (“Repurpose Exchange,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the online marketplace at repurposeexchange.com (the “Platform”), which connects buyers and sellers of used, refurbished, and surplus solar panels and related equipment. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you visit our Platform, submit an inquiry or listing, place an order, or otherwise interact with us.
By using our Platform, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
Corporate Context. Repurpose Exchange, LLC is a Wyoming limited liability company registered to do business in California, and is a subsidiary of Repurpose Group, Inc., a Delaware corporation. This Policy applies solely to Repurpose Exchange and its Platform. Our affiliated entity, Repurpose Solar, maintains its own separate privacy practices.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information in two ways: directly from you, and automatically through your use of the Platform.
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
When you submit a contact form, seller intake form, buyer inquiry, freight-quote request, place an order, or otherwise communicate with us, we may collect:
- Full name
- Business name and role/title
- Email address
- Phone number
- Mailing, billing, or business address
- Details about items you submit for listing
- Transaction details and communications related to buying or selling
- Any other information you voluntarily include in a form or message
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you access the Platform, certain technical information is collected automatically by our hosting and infrastructure providers, including IP address, browser type, device information, and pages viewed. This information is used to operate, secure, and improve the Platform. We do not currently use advertising or cross-site tracking technologies (see Section 5).
2.3 Payment Information
Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. When you make a purchase, your payment card details are collected and processed directly by Stripe under its own privacy policy and security controls. Repurpose Exchange does not collect or store full payment card numbers.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use your information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects without human review.
4. How We Share Your Information
We share personal information only as described below. We do not sell or rent your personal data.
4.1 Business Counterparties
If you are a buyer or seller using our marketplace, we may share relevant contact and listing information with the other party in a transaction for the purpose of facilitating and completing that transaction. We share only what is necessary to complete the deal (for example, providing a confirmed buyer with pickup-location details, or providing a seller with the information needed to fulfill an order).
4.2 Service Providers
We share information with vendors who perform services on our behalf, under contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations. These include Stripe (payment processing), Resend (transactional email delivery), Supabase (database hosting), and Vercel (application hosting). These providers may process your information only to provide services to us.
4.3 Affiliated Entities
We may share information with our parent company, Repurpose Group, Inc., and our affiliate, Repurpose Solar, for internal operational and reporting purposes — for example, routing damaged or non-resalable equipment to Repurpose Solar for compliant recycling. These entities are bound by confidentiality obligations consistent with this Policy.
4.4 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or government authority, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
5. Advertising and Tracking
We market the Platform through online advertising that directs prospective buyers and sellers to our site. As of the Last Updated date above, we do not place advertising pixels, conversion tags, or cross-site tracking technologies on the Platform, and we do not share personal information with advertising partners for targeted advertising.
Note: If we adopt advertising or analytics technologies that share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in the future, we will update this Policy, provide the disclosures required by the CCPA/CPRA, and add a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” opt-out mechanism before doing so.
6. California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), grants you the following rights with respect to your personal information:

We will verify your identity before processing your request. For requests submitted by an authorized agent on your behalf, we require written authorization or a power of attorney. We will respond within 45 days of receipt; we may extend this period by an additional 45 days with notice.
CPRA Note on B2B Data. California privacy rights apply to personal information collected in the business-to-business context, including information collected from individuals acting in their business capacity as buyers or sellers on our Platform.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, or as required by law:

When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it in accordance with our internal retention schedule.
8. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These include:
- TLS encryption for data transmitted to and from repurposeexchange.com
- Role-based access controls limiting administrative data access to authorized personnel
- Payment processing handled exclusively by Stripe (PCI DSS Level 1 certified); we do not store card data
- Database-level access controls that restrict sensitive records to server-side, authenticated access
- Hosting on Vercel, which provides platform-level network protections
- Periodic review of our data-security practices and vendor compliance
No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach affecting your information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
9. Email Communications (CAN-SPAM)
We may send you transactional emails (such as invoices, listing updates, and inquiry responses) and, if you have opted in, marketing communications about our services. In compliance with the CAN-SPAM Act:
- Every commercial email we send will clearly identify Repurpose Exchange as the sender
- Every marketing email will include a clear and easy unsubscribe link
- We will honor opt-out requests within 10 business days
- We will not use deceptive subject lines or misleading sender information

10. Third-Party Links
Our Platform may contain links to websites operated by our affiliate, Repurpose Solar, or by third parties such as freight carriers. Each operates under its own separate privacy policy. We encourage you to review the applicable privacy policy when visiting any linked site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties.
11. Children’s Privacy
The Platform is a marketplace intended for use by business professionals and adults, and is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a minor, we will delete it promptly. If you believe we have collected information from a minor, please contact us at info@repurposeexchange.com.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or Platform features. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date above and notify you via email or a prominent notice on the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of the revised Policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
