Frequently Asked Topics

Listing Approval

Every listing is reviewed before it goes live. Repurpose Exchange checks photos, condition, pricing, and seller contact information. Most listings are acknowledged within 24 hours and reviewed within 1–2 business days.

How Auctions Work

Sellers can set a starting bid and optional reserve price. Buyers place bids during the auction window, which runs from 3–14 days, and the highest bidder wins when the auction closes. If the reserve isn't met, the seller can accept the highest offer, counter, or decline.

Consignment Terms

Consignment is a full-service option for sellers who want help with pickup, photography, storage, listing, and fulfillment. Terms are reviewed and agreed on before the listing goes live. The standard consignment rate is 50%, but it may be adjusted by mutual agreement. Payment is sent within 5 business days of funds clearing.

Commission Structure

Sellers pay a commission when equipment sells. The commission is deducted from the final payout: 12% for self-list, 14% for auction, and 50% for consignment. Buyers pay the listing price plus shipping and applicable taxes.

Shipping & Fulfillment

Repurpose Exchange works with LTL freight carriers and specialized solar logistics suppliers. Shipping is quoted case by case based on pallet count, weight, distance, and liftgate or forklift needs. For consignment sales, Repurpose Exchange handles the entire process.

Damaged Equipment Path

Not all equipment is fit for resale. Damaged, non-functional, or heavily worn equipment can be routed to Repurpose Solar for EPA-compliant recycling. Sellers receive proper documentation, and nothing goes to a landfill.
